Guess a letter
Tap an on-screen letter or press A–Z on a hardware keyboard while the game has focus. A correct guess reveals every occurrence of that letter. Find all the letters to win.
Six chances
Each different wrong letter uses one lantern. Used letters are disabled: ✓ means a hit and × means a miss. Repeated letters never cost a chance. Numbers, punctuation and other keys are ignored.
- The sun sinks.
- Clouds gather.

- The lantern gutters.
- The fire goes out, and the answer is revealed.
A win clears the clouds, reveals the stars and keeps the fire bright. There is no timer.
Another word
New word asks before replacing any active round. Keep playing or press Escape to cancel. After a win or loss, it starts a new round directly. The next word will differ from the previous word.
A small, original pack
There are exactly 40 hand-curated words: 10 each in nature, food, places and objects. They contain 4–10 English A–Z letters, without proper names or spelling variants. This is a fixed PoC pack, not a random dictionary.
Keyboard & access
Tab and Shift+Tab move through controls; Enter or Space activates a focused button. Escape closes the guide or cancels a new word. Play pauses while either dialog is open. Reduced-motion preferences are respected.
Offline & this prototype
The standalone app caches its game, icons and this guide after a complete online load when service workers are available. Reload offline to check readiness. Browser installation availability varies. No account, backend, saved round or score history; reloading starts a fresh word.
